April 11, 2023- Board Announcement: new Executive Director selected
On behalf of Hong Fook Mental Health Association, we are excited to welcome Andrew Chung as our new Executive Director.
Andrew has worked in the non-profit sector for nearly 20 years, most of which have been in healthcare and community service organizations. Most recently, Andrew served as Director of Philanthropy at the CAMH Foundation, leading the organization's major gifts strategy, the Recovery College portfolio, and community engagement and EDI initiatives as part of the hospital's $500M comprehensive research capital campaign. Throughout his career, Andrew has helped lead the development and successful implementation of ambitious strategic plans, leveraging clear funding priorities to inspire philanthropy towards mental health initiatives that serve historically marginalized groups.
Andrew formerly served as Board Secretary for the Asian Canadian AIDS Services, Communications and Policy Advisor at the Consortium of Agencies Serving Immigrant Professionals, and recently ended his term as a board member for the Department of Imaginary Affairs.
Born and raised in Toronto, Andrew completed his undergraduate degree at Toronto Metropolitan University with a bachelor's degree in Public Administration and Governance. He is currently in Cornell University's Executive MBA/MSc in Healthcare Leadership dual-degree program and will graduate in Spring 2023.
Andrew will bring to bear his significant professional and educational experience in the mental health non-profit space, and also his personal dedication to addressing mental health issues impacting the Asian community. With Andrew’s leadership, we look forward to a new chapter in Hong Fook’s journey as we continue to set the standard for culturally competent care in Ontario.
Beyond his professional life, Andrew is an avid athlete who enjoys long-distance running, volleyball, and dragon boating, and coaching youth and corporate teams. Andrew lives in the downtown Toronto area with Bear, his 11-year old Cockapoo.
