Toronto Waterfront Marathon

Toronto Waterfront Marathon

On Oct 21, 2018, the Foundation joined the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Challenge to raise funds to support unfunded or under-funded services offered by the Association. Even though a first-year charity participating this event, Hong Fook still rallied support of 47 runners/walkers, some of them even came all the way from Hong Kong and the United States. Over $47,000 was raised. It was a cold fall morning but the generosity of our sponsors warmed all the participants' hearts.

This year, Hong Fook runners and walkers will be challenging ourselves to support the recently launched Hong Fook Youth and Family Hub! In the past month, 39% of Ontario students in Grades 7 to 12 indicated symptoms of anxiety and depression, which means approximately over 8,700 East/Southeast Asian Toronto high school students live with such experience. However, only 200 of those can be served through Hong Fook's Youth and Family Hub based on the current capacity. To narrow the gap, we count on your support through:

-signing up as a runner or walker to take the mental health journey together with the Hong Fook team on October 20, 2019 at Toronto Waterfront! Kindly follow the registration instruction.

- Creating your own team and be a captain! It will be more fun and we will be stronger! Bring your families and friends to run and walk with you! Once you are registered, follow the instruction here to create a team.

-sharing the message through your network and via your social media
