With a turnout of almost 400 guests, the event raised over $300,000, aiming to support and enhance the delivery of culturally competent mental health services to Asian communities in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).<\/p>\r\n<p>Hon. Michael Tibollo, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, acknowledged Hong Fook&#8217;s vital role in providing culturally competent care and addressing unique challenges faced by Asian communities. Kindly watch her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aeSlXTMBGeE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Keynote Speech &#8220;Beautifully Unbroken&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p>Please read the 2023 Gala Program Book<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hongfook.ca\/association\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/06\/Gala-Program-2023-For-Screen-2.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hongfook.ca\/foundation\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/05\/HF-Gala-2023-Poster-5-1-622x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"864\" \/><\/p>\r\n<p>In the past decade, your generosity has:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>helped us secure a <strong>permanent location at Downtown Markham<\/strong>, which houses our Asian Youth and Family Hub and our future Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre in York Region, and opens an alternate door for us to better attend to the rising needs of mental health services in southern York Region with highly concentrated Asian communities;<\/li>\r\n<li>supported the expansion of our resilience-based <strong>Youth and Family Services<\/strong>, a safe space for our youth to develop concrete tools and strategies for mental wellbeing, and a channel for parents to understand their children better;<\/li>\r\n<li>fostered the launch of our innovative <strong>Culturally Competent Recovery College<\/strong>, a non-clinical model to improve personal recovery and create placement opportunities for peers to live a meaningful, autonomous and empowered life;<\/li>\r\n<li>supported our <strong>stigma reduction<\/strong> work to engage over 8,000 community members, building their coping skills and promoting their help seeking behaviors; and<\/li>\r\n<li>sustained our <strong>continuum of services and quality care<\/strong> helping 1,700 individuals with mental health challenges each year.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>We are happy to announce the raffle draw result for the 2023 Hong Fook Raffle.
