Abstract:

The Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic faced an increase of clients seeking support from gender-based violence since the pandemic started in 2020. The This session will review some of the challenges brought on by the pandemic and new approaches the clinic has adopted to better support survivors of gender-based violence.

At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify risk assessment and safety planning tips and considerations
  2. Identify gaps in services for survivors of gender-based violence
  3. Discuss issues around legal challenges and advocacy
  4. Identify resources and referral pathways in the community
